「Sketch Note」

i had a chock full of homework to do so I couldn’t do as much as I wanted to this week.

I still didn’t try out Tales of Graces f yet. I might tomorrow or near the end of this week.

I have been drawing/sketching. LOL it looks so retro anime styled but it’s fun.

Haven’t been able to get on msn.

I’ve been watching street fighter vids on youtube from dspstreetfighter.

uhh.. what else? oh yeah, the layout. I found some textures and I made a notebook-like bg myself for posts. However it’s a .jpeg file and it refuses to show up when  I upload it. My only alternative would be to embed the image directly into the code, which sadly, I dunno how to do. So if anyone knows how, I’d be thankful if you lend me a hand. XD 

It’s still early yet. Not sure when I’ll sleep. I’ll probly work on the layout some more. If possible, I’ll log  onto msn the following day.

One day late because I had to work so I couldn’t pass by to pick it up. But my pre-ordered Tales of Graces f has finally placed itself in my hands.

My only disappointment was that, watching DSPGaming’s unboxing videos on youtube, I thought (hoped) that maybe since I got it through pre-order I’d get something special. But at the same time when I opened it and realized I got nothing extra, I wasn’t surprised. The majority of very anime-ish games are usually like this with “exceptions” to very small few of them such as Lunar Eternal Blue 2 which I got back in the PS1’s golden days. Outside of Digimon and Dragon Valor, Lunar EB 2 was the very first jrpg I played without veing scared so much that I’d never wanna play it again. It’s most definitely because I was young, but playing Dragon Valor was like playing a horror game for me even though I really liked the game. One of my fondest childhood memories.

Wait where was I going with this? Oh yeah, Lunar came in a large package with a CD album, a pouch with Lunar’s pendant which was a perfect size to wear (though large on me lol i was small), 3-disc game. And yeah. Was awesome. Atelier Rorona and SMT Persona 1 did something similar. But yeah, it;s not very often that you get such special treatment when buying such games.

Anyway, I have not played it yet. Too tired and sleepy to play. But I’ll give my impressions of it.

If you have not or will not play it just because you have fandom to rely on… all I can say to you is : “tsk tsk” *look of pity and shame*

It’s worth it to play it. And if you depend on someone else’s miscellaneous fandom it just feels wrong XD You’re not serving the series well to do that. Just my personal opinion but if you want to do it, go ahead. Whatever floats your boat.

But really, I’m probably gonna say this a lot on my blog because it bothers me, but… there’s a difference between being a fan of the series and just being a fan of the character design. XD And that’s all I’ll say.

Yeshhhh. 1st of all, Tales of Graces is coming out. w00t. That’s all I can say about it. I know nothing about the game outside of the fact that it’s the first “Tales Of” game to crossover to the PS3 platform in the U.S.

And I’ve been with the Tales of Series for a long time. Big fan. The games are just awesome. I pity any rpg fan who hasn’t played them.

You might not think that being such an old time fan and all is such a big accomplishment. But heck, a person should get some privilege to bragging rights after spending so much money on them and the consoles needed for them for all these years. So I’ll do it. I’ll pat myself on the back. And if you and your wallet has been roughing it out all these years for the series, you should pat yourself on the back too. The reason why I even bought a wii was so I could play Tales of Symphonia (gamecube). Luckily the wii had backwards compatibility. And the fact that ToS Dawn was released on it too was a plus. The console I originally had and stuck with was the Playstation and the PS2. So my first game was Tales of Legendia.

Ah, looking at that cover sure brings back some nice memories.

So yeah, pat yourself on the back! I know I’m patting mine. lol

And if you’re new to the series then, I don’t know if ToG will be a good game because I haven’t tried it yet. I’ll be sure to put my first impressions of the game here in case anyone bothers to care to read it. lol ToG, as I know, I think it’s a PS3 exclusive. Not sure. Again, I know nothing about it.

You can try getting Tales Of Vesperia. I played that game thoroughly. Over 200 hours of gameplay from me. lolz And I enjoyed every second of it. So if you have a 360 or PS3, get it. It’s more than worth it.

If you have neither a 360 nor a PS3, but you DO have a Wii, then get the original Tales of Symphonia that was released for the gamecube. I tried it. Gamecube games DO work with the wii. I know Tales of Symphonia Dawn is an original wii release. But honestly, if you play that without playing the original Symphonia, you’re just missing out on too much.

“Oh but I look at the fandom ;v; “

NO! D< NO NO heck NO. The fandom is nothing like the real thing. And the real thing (majority of the time) is better. You’re really letting yourself down if you just go by the fandom only. For shame, you. But if you do it, then it’s okay. whatever floats your boat, ok. lol

And if you have neither of these, then look up a playthrough or something sadly. But really, games like this. It’s no fun watching it compared to playing it. Playing it is something that beats watching a playthrough byfar because the gameplay is usually so awesome. And because there’s so much involved in the story. It’s just not the same watching someone else do it. So if you can play it. Even rent it instead of buy it. Do it.

Tales of Vesperia was originally released for the XBOX360. And back when it first came out, it was a “360 exclusive”. That means: it’s only for the 360. and probly won’t be for anything else for a few years or so. (or never).

So guess why I bought an XBOX 360. -_- mhm…

To my dismay, I never wanted an XBOX. First of all because Live costs extra and if I need to talk to people, I could use a computer rather than my controller. Second, there were no anime-related mmo’s or games that made good use of the Live feature. So if jrpg’s are strictly your thing like it is for me, that’s more than enough of a reason to not even bother with Live. And lastly, at that time, all the jrpg’s released on the XBOX claimed to be “exclusive”. If I had known that every single game I bought on the XBOX would be re-release WITH SPECIAL FEATURES AND EXTRAS I wouldn’t have wasted my money.

Also, I keep it a custom of mine to never spoil myself when it comes to media (especially video games). The very reason you play an rpg, is to experience its world and unravel the story with the characters by your side. You kinda kill the fun for yourself by looking up spoilers for a game you have to spend hours of your dedicated time playing through. But that’s just for me, not everyone’s that way. I’m just saying this to point out that me not knowing anything about the game is “INTENTIONAL”. So don’t send me spoilers or anything plz. lol

Anyway, on other news, I also finally got the basics of my blog set up. After spending 2 days straight looking at every single theme I could get my eyes on, with the help of aozo-kun, I finally managed to pick a theme for all my pages.

This is just the first step. Now that I’ve decided on a theme, I’m gonna have to replace images and colors here and there so I can really set it up and make it mine. Once I have all of these things ready, I’ll move on to working on putting some real content. And I’ll also make a blog post explaining what each of these pages are for.

Til then, the only two pages you would see me using is this one and the scrapbook (maybe).

Lastly, I’ll be able to pass by, but I will be very busy irl from now on. Especially for this week. So if I vanish, I will be back on thursday or friday.

i can’t believe it’s 1:39 a.m.

i made a serious effort to turn off the pc but got too wrapped up in picking themes for my tumblr. this is so seriously bad i can’t describe. XD if i was on vacation and stayed up this late it wouldn’t be a problem. but doing it today was a serious mistake.

i hope it doesn’t screw me over. lol. well i’ll fight.

anyway, i guess i better get going rather than stay up typing, yeah?

I went on hiatus from my own interests for a long time now to work on this “project” that the majority of people who know me don’t know about. XD If anything, it’s suffocating. But I had hoped to get it done because I felt the end result justifies the means.

I also continuously gave my buddies my word that I would get it done. However, I feel I have a life to. XD I’m not being paid for this. And I don’t see why I have to suffer so much, turning something I looked forward to doing into something I despise even thinking about.

So after asking my partner’s (aozo-kun/aozora) opinion and permission, I decided to put the whole project on a complete hiatus. Not like it would make a difference to the people who were waiting for it though. XD The only sad part is that it will take longer.

I already have the artwork done, which I’ve done more than 3x over! Not one character, but “multiple”. And I have 2 of them which I have to redo again definitely.

The main reason why I kept remaking the artwork repeatedly is because I’ve had experience with groups and leadership before. Plus, this was intended to be an art group. It won’t go far if the artwork that’s all over the page doesn’t look attractive enough. XD It may be unneeded pressure, but I don’t want to do it half way and regret it. If I’m going to spend my time doing something, I want it to be completed with results I’m satisfied with.

I do feel like I let down most of my buddies. I didn’t do it intentionally, but I feel like I did anyway. I wanted to open an art circle. Not so we could take credit for each other’s work like most art circles do. But simply because I wanted someone with similar interests to mine that I can talk to and spend time with. But it was difficult to do that without an official group or gathering place. The members couldn’t communicate with each other or do activities with each other that well.

So I decided to make a page on TUMBLR back when it was in its beta. And that didn’t work because at that time, most were reluctant to use or migrate to tumblr actively. It was literally only 2 or 3 people. So I gave up on that idea and decided to make a group page elsewhere.

Then I thought, maybe it would be more fun and interesting if I made something like a game out of it. I thought if we had something unique, fun, and interesting to do together, it would bring us closer to each other.

Then, instead of keeping it for just our art circle, I thought “I have lots of other buddies who like the idea even if they can’t join the art circle.” so I decided to completely scrap and remodel the idea I had for the group so that it could cater to not just the art circle, but whoever wants to join and participate on the group’s page. 

For the past few years, I have given this project 100% of my attention. People say my idea is too complicated or that it’s too much for one or two people to do. But again, I don’t want to do things half way. If I can’t do it as planned or “even better” than what I planned, then I don’t want to do it. Especially this project which I’ve spent years of thought and effort on.

The reason why I decided to put it on hiatus, is NOT because I want to or plan on giving up on it. I just feel like, while I’m stuck giving my attention to this, everyone is moving forward and ahead of me while I’m being left behind. Whether it be with their artwork or life in general. And I don’t feel like being stuck in this position any longer.

While I was suffocating myself with this project for the past years, I neglected my own responsibilities as well as my own motivations, thoughts, and ideas that I want to do for “myself”. So I just want to take it easy and focus on me for a while. I still will work on stuff because I definitely want to get it done and I don’t want to give up on it. But as far as anyone is concerned, you can expect to not see any results for another long while.

And if I feel that it’s getting to be impossible or I begin to acknowledge that the project is a bit above my capabilities right now. Then I’ll make drastic changes to the ideas I originally had for the group. Even if it results in a loss of most of the content I’ve already made or had in plan. I’ll try not to waste anything though. That would be too depressing to throw away my efforts. I guess I’ll just brainstorm on a simpler way to use them. Either that or resort to using “stock” photos instead of drawing them myself.

EDIT**** Plus I nearly forgot to mention, that aozo-kun has put a lot of effort and work into this too. There’s no way I’d scrap it and throw away all the things she’s done for the group.

So… I feel really bad that I let everyone down. Things will be especially hard since I will have to work soon (well, eventually). 

But I feel that it must be done. I need a breather. lol 
So, I’m working on setting up this blog.
I’ll be posting lots of stuff and make an “attempt” to make it fancy. 
And I’ll go back to “attempting” to be active on deviantArt as well by uploading artwork. So if you need to ask me something, you can send me a note there or reply to a blog post or something. >-< 

Once I’m finished breathing, I’ll hold my breath once again and rush to complete it.
